Overview

"I thought it was worth passing on some of my thoughts about the recent Crucial Conversations training. In my opinion the instructor (Katherine Craig) was one of the most effective presenters I have seen. Her ability to clearly show how the concepts being learned can be applied in real world situations is a rare talent. She was effective at taking what is essentially theoretical information and bridging it to demonstrate how that information can be applied in a practical sense.

There are workshops for every person on your team! For the sake of ease, we have broken them into two series to help you pick the grouping that best suits your needs.

The first series is targeted at developing and experienced leaders - this series is called "Inspire and Influence Skills." These workshops run from one hour to two days. The focus of these workshops is to provide leaders with the tools to thrive in the demanding workplace. The workshops are designed to fit together so we recommend leaders go through the entire series for a complete package of skills. Workshop topics include:

The second series is targeted at developing those not yet in leadership roles - this series is called the "High Impact Skills Series." These workshops also run from one hour to two days. The focus of these workshops is to provide those in non-managerial roles with the tools to feel engaged at their workplace and put their best workplace skills on display. Inspire & Influence Skills Workshops

Meetings with Impact

How much time do we spend each week in meetings? Do you feel this is time well spent? Often we don't feel it's time well spent and dream about getting back to our desk to get our "real work" done. This workshop will re-energize meetings for both leaders and the team. We will do an analysis of your team meetings and turn them from boring to engaging with hands-on tools that can be implemented immediately.

  1. Analyze if your meetings are super or super-boring!
  2. Techniques to make your meeting effective and action-oriented.
  3. Learn to create meetings that get results.

High Performance Leadership = High Performance Teams

What makes high performance leaders? The key is self-awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses. High performance leaders lead high-performance teams. Top talent will always seek top talent leaders. This workshop will enable each participant to continue the journey to being an outstanding leader.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Each participant will complete a Leadership EQi assessment that will enable them to identify their leadership strengths and weaknesses.
  2. Scores will be compared those scores to other top leaders in industry to enable participants to set benchmarks for themselves.
  3. Identification of 16 attributes of outstanding leaders.
  4. Learn tools to continue your journey to being the leader everyone wants to follow!

Crucial Conversations

This workshop focuses on creating open dialogue for resolving disagreements. Crucial Conversations teaches skills for communicating when the stakes are high, opinions vary and emotions run strong. Attendees will learn how to speak with complete candor (no matter the topic) and complete respect (no matter the person). Crucial Conversations is currently considered the "go-to" course within many industries for learning the kind of critical communication skill required of today's professionals.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Resolving disagreements: Accurately address concerns by talking respectfully, candidly and skillfully with coworkers in a safe way.
  2. Building acceptance rather than resistance: Give and receive feedback in a way that enhances relationships and improves results.
  3. Speaking persuasively, not abrasively: Effectively ensure the right decision is made, even when stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong.
  4. Fostering teamwork: Get the right people involved in a way that guarantees commitment and conviction.

The Keys to High Engagement - Understanding Rewards and Recognition

Rewards and recognition are keys to employee engagement and retention; brand your team as not only the place for employees to join, but to stay and grow. By exploring reward and recognition practices, stages of employee development and potential tools, participants will have a clear, working understanding of the ways in which employees can be engaged and retained in a competitive hiring environment.

Leading Effective and Sustainable Change

As leaders we spend a great deal of time trying to figure out how to implement change. Numerous consultants have grown rich guiding these efforts. I often hear people say the following: We tried to implement that process but everyone seems to have given up. We're planning to start that system when people aren't so busy. The irony is that we don't have enough resources to figure out how to find those efficiencies! So what's going on here? Why do we seem hopelessly stuck? Is the modern workforce hopelessly apathetic? Great news: there is hope! There's nothing wrong with the spirit of your workforce. They are just waiting for an invitation.

Too often we race from inception of an idea or project to client delivery without pausing to we have built a solid planning foundation. This workshop will teach and refresh the fundamentals through case studies.

  1. Understanding of a good strategy and how to create a good strategy.
  2. Awareness of how goals fit into the strategy and their importance.
  3. How to develop a follow-through plan to ensure excellent execution of the plan.

High Impact Skills Series

Standing Tall When Your Workload Wants to Crush You

Often presentations on workload overlook the key factor supported by research - "Body follows Head." This means that our perception of a situation guides our physical response. One person sees a workload as overwhelming and it is. Another sees the same workload as manageable and it is. Who's telling the truth? Both are! This workshop will provide what other workload workshops miss - techniques to get your head ready so that the tips to manage a big workload are actually implemented. This workshop is about taking control back, starting with perspective! When participants walk out of the room they will have all the tools to make a real and permanent change.

  1. How to wake up energized on weekdays - not just weekends!
  2. How to avoid the negative thought cycle that can make you feel crushed at work.

Understand and be Understood: Essentials of Great Communication

We often take communication for granted - we open our mouths and talk, right? If great communication was that simple we would never experience misunderstandings! This workshop will take participants back to the nuts and bolts of communication. The workshop will focus on all aspects of communication: Seeing, Listening, Speaking, and Discussions. The workshop will finish on measuring if you have been communicating effectively.

(NEW!) Tools to Manage your Day more Effectively

This fully interactive workshop teaches the top 10 tips to managing one's day/workload more effectively. Focus will also be given to the participants working the entire session in teams that are regularly mixed to provide an opportunity for new colleague connections.
