Springing into Action!

Dear friends,

A new book!
Spring got off to a slow start across Canada, but there was nothing slow about the activity at Spearhead, as we got a running start in 2012. There were some great developments in these first few months, not the least of which was the completion of our first book, Power Tools for Leadership Success (Dog Ear Publishing © 2012). We wanted to create something compact and concise, something that would provide you with practical tools you could use while building your leadership skills. And that's what you'll find in this book. It's scheduled for release at the end of June in hardcopy and as an e-book later in July. We'll keep you posted.

Publishing a book was one of several long-term goals I'd set for myself. It was incredibly challenging, but also incredibly rewarding. Perhaps you've set some goals that seem out of reach, or maybe you're looking to develop some short- and long-term goals for yourself, both personally and professionally. We can help, by giving you the focus and clarity you need to set realistic targets, and the tools you need to develop strategies to meet those targets. Get in touch with us if you're ready to take your professional journey to the next level.

...and a new website!
If you haven't been to our website recently you'll want to jump there pronto. We did some serious spring-cleaning, and a major renovation, to boot. You'll still find all the links and resources you need to build your skills and elevate your leadership from good to great, plus a whole lot more. Check out the great new line-up of workshops and programs we've added and see if we've got something to suit your needs. Don't see an exact fit? We do custom workshops - just let us know we'll design a program that's perfect for you and your team.

As always, I encourage you to send your feedback, questions and comments.

Managing Virtual Teams

The corporate world has seen an explosion of virtual teams: departments whose members are scattered in branches across town, across the country, around the globe. The exponential advancement of IT has facilitated this phenomenon, however not all the stakeholders in this new "office" environment have adapted to the changing climate. Is your workplace suffering because of a poorly functioning virtual team?
